Risk-Free Guaranteed Promotional Values

Estimating the value of sportsbook promotions is inherently imprecise because the amount of guaranteed profit depends heavily on the markets used for hedging. Two users receiving the exact same promotion can achieve very different returns depending on the quality of the markets they hedge on.

• Goal: estimate what a reasonably informed user should be able to extract without spending hours hunting for perfect opportunities.
• Assumptions: you are comfortable with basic hedging, have liquid markets available, and can execute using the calculators on this site.
• Timing: promotional value can rise around major events and during periods when strong hedge markets are easier to find.
• Market quality: a promotion can be more valuable in a state with many legal books than in one with only a few usable hedge options.
• Conservative view: I intentionally avoid assuming premium odds-comparison services. If you do use them effectively, the estimated value should generally be higher. The values also are only intended to represent the opportunities available as part of new-user promotions and any friend referral value that comes from registration. That means, even though it is not uncommon for valuable promotions to continue in the first few weeks for a new user on certain betting platforms, this value is not considered.
